Shante Carter founder of TWA (Together We’re Achieving) was born in Chicago Illinois in the late 80’s, but then moved to Beloit Wisconsin at the age of 2. Going into her teen years Shante moved to Madison Wisconsin at the age of 13 where life would begin. Just at age of 17, Shante became a mother to a baby girl. Now with more responsibility and sacrificsing, Shante had to make the choice to drop out of school to get a job to care for her daughter. Although She did not graduated with her class of 2008, she did obtain her General Education Diploma at Madison Area Technical College in 2011, followed by some college courses for Medical Assistance in 2012 and 2014. Still facing life challenges and having to make sacrifices, Shante had to drop her College course to care for her daughter who lost her father, then she would later give birth to her second child a baby boy.
After giving birth to a second child, Shante begin to feel the rush of life and realize that it was becoming a struggle to provided the basic things needed to live and feared that she will be stuck living in poverty. This not only hurt Shante financially but mentally causing Shante to go into depression worrying how she would provide for her family. Living pay check to pay check Shante struggled to understand financial management and wealth building.
In 2019 Shante applied for a job that she had always over looked cause she knew she did not qualify and to her surprise she was hired on for a Full-Time position. In 2020 She then signed up for on demand classes for a Real Estate course where she obtain a Real Estate license as a Real Estate Sales Person. Focusing on the bigger picture Shante decided to make a change that would not only help her family but many other families who struggles with the same issues as her.
In 2023, Shante applied for a 501c3 to start a non-profit organization that will teach financial literacy and become a safe haven and was awarded the 501(c3) in July 2023.
